Photography & Sound - ICE Immersion Series 8 - conducted by Gerardo Montiel Klint

February 27 – March 2

How to translate a smell into image? How to translate affection and attachment into image? How is nostalgia translated into sound?  These are some of the questions that guide this workshop. This four-day immersive experience will open a creative space where participants will experiment with image and sound to explore collectively the porosity of visual and sound media.

Day 1 – Wednesday February 27, 10:00 – 2:00:

  • Theoretical Introduction: image projection, concepts and discussion

  • Identifying three abstractions/concepts as a starting point for the work project

  • Selection of three images and audio file from each participant’s personal archives

  • Field work: Exploration around the concept of self and permanence

Day 2 – Thursday February 28, 10:00 – 2:00:

  • Theoretical Introduction: image projection, concepts and discussion

  • Identifying second three abstractions/concepts to continue the work

  • Field work: Exploration around the concept of self and impermanence

Day 3 – Friday March 1, 10:00 – 2:00:

  • Theoretical Introduction: image projection, concepts and discussion

  • Identifying the third and last three abstractions/concepts to complete the project

Day 4 – Saturday March 2, 12:00 – 4:00:
